Problem solving with Python: variables, control flow, functions, data and numerical computation.

ENCM-100 Year 1 3 credits 5 lessons · 2 h 50 min

Offered by HSM University · Engineering Core

This is the Canadian version of this course. See the American version.

What you'll learn

  • Break engineering problems into algorithms, plan them with pseudocode and flowcharts, and debug and test programs
  • Use variables, types, expressions, the math module and formatted output correctly, including floating-point limits
  • Write programs with decisions and loops, including input validation, bisection, Newton's method and design searches
  • Organize code into documented, tested functions and modules
  • Process data with lists, dictionaries, files and NumPy, and apply curve fitting, numerical integration, linear solvers and Euler's method
